Base prep
The structural base is built like any slab we pour here, compacted over clay and air-entrained, because a decorative surface only stays beautiful when what carries it is sound.
Want stone or slate without the seams of pavers? Stamped concrete reads like real masonry in one continuous slab, colored and sealed to stand up to central Ohio's salt and freeze.
Credibility comes from how it's built, not from promises. Here's the order of operations on every stamped & decorative concrete job.

Color goes in deep with integral pigment and release agents, not a thin tint on top, so the tone has body and does not look washed out after a few seasons.
Mats are pressed in while the concrete is still plastic, which is what makes the grout lines and texture read sharp once it hardens.
A sealer pulls out the color and shields the finish from de-icing salt and repeated freezing, both of which dull and scale unsealed decorative work fast.
Stamped concrete needs resealing on a cycle, and a bit sooner here because of the winter salt. We give you that schedule before you sign, not after the shine fades.
Most contractors vanish after the deposit. We pick up the phone, show up when we say, and stand behind the work after the truck leaves. The follow-through is the difference.
A foreman we know runs your job and a vetted crew does the work, managed by Lucky's, one company accountable from the first call to the final walkthrough.
COI and lien waivers on file before we break ground. The documentation that lets commercial clients pay and gives homeowners peace of mind.
Prepped subgrade, reinforced and mixed to spec for the job, and proper curing. We build credibility through the process, not promises. On stamped & decorative concrete, that starts with base prep.

Stamped concrete is poured concrete that gets pressed with patterned mats while it is still soft and colored to read like stone, brick, or slate. You get the look of pavers in one continuous pour, with no seams to pull weeds out of or shift over time.
Decorative work sits above standard flatwork, and the base under it still has to be air-entrained and built over clay. As a starting range, stamped concrete around Columbus usually runs about $15 to $23 a square foot depending on pattern detail, the number of color layers, and sealing. We settle the price after we have seen the space in person.
The base is built like any other slab, air-entrained and jointed. The finish is the part that needs attention: de-icing salt and the freeze cycles wear on color and sealer, so we reseal on a schedule. Pavers, by comparison, can lift and wander as our clay heaves underneath them.
Stone, slate, brick, and wood-plank patterns in earth tones that suit central-Ohio homes, from newer subdivisions to older brick houses. We bring samples and match the finish to your siding and any existing hardscape.
Plan on a reseal every couple of years, and sooner anywhere that catches heavy winter salt or full afternoon sun. We hand you a plain maintenance schedule so the color holds instead of guessing at it.
It can run smoother than a broom finish, so for walkways and any path that sees ice we mix a non-slip additive into the sealer. We will point out exactly where that matters on your layout.
Stamped concrete typically installs for less than pavers, has no joints to weed, and will not drift the way pavers can over freeze-thaw clay, though it does ask for periodic resealing. We will lay the trade-offs out honestly so the choice is yours.
